Day 2- Huehuetenango, Guatemala

It's 7:30 a.m. but I am wide awake and the children are ready to learn.

After the Good Morning Song and a short review of yesterday's first lesson, we jumped right into learning something new-verbs. I had a handful of verbs translated for them, but I also gave them the opportunity to ask me what verbs they wanted to know that I had not mentioned. The asking could have gone on forever!

After the verbs, we learned personal pronouns, days of the week, months of the year, numbers 30-60, and the clock. In between new subjects, we played the all-time favorite game of, Fly Swatter, as well as passing the dice. As much as it sounds, we got through it all in our 3-hour class. This wouldn't have been possible if the children weren't as diligent as they were! The students wasted no time and took notes constantly.

I've learned all the names of the students which took me a surprisingly short time.

We had such a fun class but definitely left exhausted!

Can't wait until tomorrow!
