Day 3- Huehuetenango, Guatemala
Today was our third day of class already! Three days down, three more to go.
As for every class, we began with a short review. Having been taught a lot yesterday, there was a large quantity that was reviewed, so every person got the chance to go up to the board to match words or fill in the blanks at least twice.

Today we put what we had learned since day one to the test. We started to construct sentences using animals and colors.Yet, we couldn't have done this before learning " I like, I love, I don't like".Most of the children caught on right away, while others needed a little more practice. In their notebooks, I had them construct for me, 3 different sentences, which I would then approve of when they had finished.

We also had a mini art project when the children had to create their very own passports! A couple of students were embarrassed about not being able to draw, while others were being very precise of their eye placements and coloring. It's at times like these where I can feel the growing connection of the group as a whole; watching them chatter, work on their project, and ask me questions without hesitation.

We also finished our hundreds chart today. Some brave souls had taken up my challenge to recite the numbers 0-100. This definitely took courage and intelligence but some students had it in them! Both my mother and I secretly gave each other surprised looks after each student had finished reciting.

Last but not least, we learned body parts. To finish the class off in a fun way, we used a couple of the body parts they had learned to play " Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". This was a great was to enjoy learning as well as getting the body parts to stick in their minds with the catchy tune. The students shrieked of laughter when I would purposely go slow one round, then the next go speedy quick through it all. They had attempted to follow along with me, but my 80 mph pace was not as easy as they thought ;)
Another successful class was complete!!
